Welcome dear Visitor!

We’re Angéla Rábai and Ákos Szatmári. We live with our chows in the middle part of Hungary, in a little village, Baracs.

Our love of the chows started at 1991, when we’ve bought our first dog, Arthur. Fortunately he still lives with us in good health. At that time we couldn’t see the future, and we thought, we won’t ever have more than one dog.
After some unsuccessful dogshows, slowly we’ve learned, how to prepare and to handle a chow. Of course Arthur hated it, as a real chow can, and he made us to know it..
After some years we’ve made a decision. „We want to breed!” After a long-long searching, in 1994 we’ve bought our first breeding bitch. ICH, HCH Marita Bessy was 2 years old at that time. She was a real show-chow. She enjoyed the acting on the shows, she always gave judges beleave that she’s the best.
She has many winning titles, as well as 2x Club Winner, Hungarian and International Champion. She’s the stating bitch of our kennel.
One of Bessy’s puppies  Ch. Si Huang-Ti Empereur „Empi” continued his mother’s „job” on the shows. We’ve had a lot of plaesure by showing him, he’d became our first own-breeded champion.
Empi’s a well balanced, friendly dog, but he’s a real chow male too, with his own ideas about life. Sometimes it was a hard work to show his best form in the showrings.
We think he’s very close to our imagination of the ideal chow-chow, with the good character, the healthy physical built-up, and the beautiful movement.
First time when we’d seen photos of smooth chows, they seemed very strange for us. Later on, we liked them more and more, maybe because we’d seen lots of chows with bad (sometimes sick) body structure covered by a spectacular coat. A smooth chow always shows itself, you can see if it’s healthy or not. Nothing’s hidden under the coat. You can see the real chow-chow!
In 1999 we’ve bought our first smooth bitch Jenei Bedlam (Liza). Liza was 6 months old at that time. The long period of time in her breeders kennel made her very shy and unconfidental, but she’s extremely smart and intelligent.
We started the breeding of the smooth chows with her. Now there are 6 chows in our kennel, 4 smooths and 2 roughs. We love each. We think,if someone has a chance in life to have a chow, and to recognize this extraordinary breed, than it becomes an everlasting love.
